Author Guidelines
Submission
All manuscripts should be submitted either through electronic which can be accessed through journal website. HAJHBS accepts the following article types. Please note that papers lacking originality, novelty and exclusivity will not be accepted for publication.
Types of articles accepted
The following categories of the article will be considered for publication: original article, review article, perspectives, editorial, brief communication, correspondence, and letter to the editor. Please, ensure that you select the appropriate article type from the list of options when making your submission. Authors contributing to special issues should ensure that they select the special issue article type from this list.
Original articles
Original articles are scientific reports of the results of original research. The text should be prepared with an abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgments, Declaration, list of references and figure legends.
Review articles
Review articles are a scientific report based on the results of primary studies. Such articles may include narrative reviews, systematic reviews, systematic reviews and meta-analysis. HAJHBS is not limit the word count of any article, but the authors are advised to be concise and significantly limit the word count. If the submitted manuscript is too large, reviewers or editors may request that the author reduce its length.
Other submissions
Letters to editor should be submitted in response to an article published either in HAJHBS or other journal in the previous six months. The text is limited to 1000 words, with one table or figure (total) and up to 5 references. Perspectives are usually solicited by the editors. They should provide a brief review with a different viewpoint and emphasize the importance of the current research. The text is limited to 1000 words, with only one figure at most.
Brief communications are for rapid publication of concise presentations of clinical or technical results or preliminary results in biomedical sciences. The text is limited to 1500 words, with an abstract containing not more than 150 words, a maximum of two figures or tables, and fewer than 20 references. Correspondence includes brief comments, relevant communications, and short reports. The text is limited to 500 words, with a maximum of one figure or table and up to 5 references. All submissions other than original and review articles should be limited to a maximum of three authors
Table and Figure
Tables should be prepared in a standard format and included with the manuscript when first cited. The horizontal lines of the table should not be merged. In a standard scientific table, only three lines are allowed: the top margin, below the column headings, and the bottom margin. Other lines can be hidden, or our production publication team can format the table. However, authors should take care not to merge lines inside the table.
The number of figures and/or tables should not exceed a total of seven. Every page of the manuscript, including the title page, references, tables, etc. should be numbered. However, in the text no reference should be made to page numbers. In case you have serious reasons for submitting more than seven figures or tables, you can submit them as supporting document. Additionally, tables longer than one page should be submitted as supporting document. Please avoid submitting numerous figures or tables. The figure resolution should be standard (300 dpi), and submitted as file in either.TIFF, .JPEG, .PNG, .or GIF format. The file names of the figures should be saved in the file name Fig 1.tiff, Fig 1.PNG, Fig 1.JPEG, Fig 1.GIF.
Submission checklist
You can use this list to carry out a final check of your submission before you send it to the journal for consideration. Please, refer to the relevant section in this guide for authors for more details.
Ensure that the following items are present:
- One author has been designated as the corresponding author with contact details:
- E-mail address
- Full postal address
- Line and page numbering
- Ensure that the text of your paper is double-spaced and has consecutive (continuous) line numbering.
- Also, ensure that page numbers are added to the source file. This is an essential requirement for peer review.
- All submissions should be prepared with the following files:
- Cover letter
- Manuscript, including tables and figure legends
- Figures (guidelines for preparing figures can be found at the Figure and Table Guidelines)
The submissions that do not meet the publication criterion for language standards may be rejected.
Cover letter
You should supply an approximately one-page cover letter that:
- Concisely summarizes why your paper is a valuable addition to the scientific literature

- Lists any opposed reviewers
Manuscript organization
The journal considers manuscripts of any length. There are no explicit restrictions on the number of words of the supporting information, although we encourage a concise and clear writing style. We will not consider monographs for publication. Monographs will not be considered for publication. All manuscripts should adhere to the following guidelines:
- Double-spacing throughout.
- Inclusion of line numbers and page numbers.
Manuscripts should begin with the following ordered sections:
- Title
- List of authors
- Affiliations
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction/background with subheadings, if necessary
- Materials and methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgments
- Decelerations
- Consent for publication (if not applicable: Write not applicable)
- Availability of data and materials: The data used in this study should be submitted with the manuscript to the journal or saved in know online databases. If the data is saved in online known database the link of the database should be provided.
- Competing interests
- Funding
- Abbreviations
- References
- Supporting information and figure legends
Figure and Tables:
- Figures should be cited in ascending numeric order upon first appearance. Each figure caption should be then inserted immediately after the first paragraph in which it is cited in the article file. Figures should not be included in the main manuscript file. Each figure must be prepared and submitted as an individual file. Find more information about preparing figures under Figure and Table guideline.
- Tables should be cited in ascending numeric order upon first appearance. Each table should then be inserted immediately after the first paragraph in which it is cited in the article file.
Title Page:
The title, authors and affiliations should all be included on a title page as the first page of the manuscript file.
Abbreviations and Standardized Nomenclature:
Abbreviations should be kept to a minimum and defined upon first use in the text. Nonstandard abbreviations should not be used unless they appear at least three times in the text. Standardized nomenclature should be used as appropriate, including the appropriate usage of species names and SI units.
Further Considerations:
- Ensure that the Manuscript has been spell checked and grammar checked.
- All references mentioned in the reference list should be cited in the text, and vice versa.
- Obtain permission for the use of copyrighted material from other sources, including the internet.
- Provide a competing interest statement, even if the authors have no competing interests to declare.
- Review journal policies detailed in this guide.
- Provide referee suggestions and contact details provided based on journal requirements.
Style and Format:
File format: Manuscript files should be submitted in DOC OR PDF format. Microsoft Word documents must not be locked or protected.
Manuscripts Length: There are no specific restrictions on the length of manuscripts, including word count or amount of supporting information. However, authors encouraged to be concise and to condense their manuscripts where possible. If a manuscript is excessively lengthy, reviewers or editors may request that the author shorten it. Therefore, authors are encouraged to present and discuss findings concisely.
Font: Use a font size of 12 and Times New Roman font style.
Symbols: To add symbols to the manuscript, use the “Insert → Symbol” function in your word processor or paste in the appropriate Unicode character.
Headings: Limit manuscript sub-sections to 3 heading levels. Make sure heading levels are clearly indicated in the manuscript text.
Layout and spacing: Manuscript text should be double-spaced, with margins of no less than 1 inch on all four sides. Avoid formatting the txt in multiple columns.
Page and line numbers: Include both page numbers and line numbers in the manuscript file. Use continuous line numbers (do not restart the numbering on each page).
Footnotes: Footnotes are not allowed. Any information contained in footnotes should be integrated into the main text or reference list, depending on the content.
Language: Manuscripts must be submitted in English with American spelling conventions.
You may submit translations of the abstract as supporting information. Local language translated abstract will be published with the manuscript at the last page. Top of Form
Abbreviations: Define abbreviations upon their first appearance in the text, and then consistently use the abbreviation throughout the document. Avoid using non-standard abbreviations unless they appear at least three times in the text. Keep the use of abbreviations to a minimum.
Reference Style: HAJHBS follows the “Vancouver” style, as outlined in the ICMJE sample references.
Equations: We recommend using Math Type for display and inline equations, as it will provide the most reliable outcome. If this is not possible, Equation Editor or Microsoft's Insert→ Equation function is acceptable.
Avoid using Math Type, Equation Editor, or the Insert→ Equation function to insert single variables (e.g., “a² + b² = c²”), Greek or other symbols (e.g., β, Δ, or ′ [prime]), or mathematical operators (e.g., x, ≥, or ±) in running text. Wherever possible, insert single symbols as normal text with the correct Unicode values.Top of Form The author should not use Math Type, Equation Editor, or the Insert→ Equation function for only a portion of an equation. Rather, ensure that the entire equation is included. Equations should not contain a mix of different equation tools. Avoid “hybrid” inline or display equations, in which part is text and part is Math Type, or part is Math Type and part is Equation Editor.
Guidelines for each section
Title
Manuscripts must be submitted with both a full title and a short title or running title, which will appear at the top of the PDF upon publication if accepted. Only the full title should be included in the manuscript file; the short title will be entered during the online submission process or immediately after the affiliation of the authors for manuscripts submitted through email.
The full title must be 250 characters or 24 words with space or fewer. It should be specific, descriptive, concise, and comprehensible to readers outside the subject field. Avoid abbreviations in the title if possible. Where appropriate, authors should include the species or model system used (for biological papers) or type of study design (for clinical papers). The title should not contain study year
Authors and affiliations
All author names should be listed in the following order:
- First names
- Middle names (or initials, if used), and
- Last names (surname, family name)
Each author should list an associated department, university, or organizational affiliation and its location, including city and country. If the article has been submitted on behalf of a consortium, all author names and affiliations should be listed at the end of the article. This information cannot be changed after initial submission, so please ensure that it is correct and confirmed by each author.
To qualify for authorship, one should contribute to all of the following:

Each author must have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for appropriate portions of the content. Those who contributed to the work but do not qualify for authorship should be listed in the acknowledgments.
When a large group or center has conducted the work, the author list should include the individuals whose contributions meet the criteria defined above, as well as the group name. All authors must approve the final manuscript before submission. HAJHBS will contact all authors by email at submission to ensure that they are aware of the submission of the manuscript. One author should be designated as the corresponding author, and his or her email address or other contact information should be included on the manuscript cover page. This information will be published with the article if accepted.
Abstract
The abstract should be structured as follows:
- Background: Provide a clear background with objective. The background should introduce the title and provide clear justification.
- Materials and methods: Explain how the study was conducted and materials used, including any model organisms, without detail explanation.
- Results: Summarize the key findings and their significance, if any
- Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and provide recommendations that based on them.
- The total word count of the abstract should not exceed 300 words.
Abstracts should not include:
- Citations
- Abbreviations, if possible

The introduction should:
Top of Form
- Provide background information that contextualizes the manuscript and allows readers outside the field to understand the purpose and significance of the study.
- Define the problem addressed and explain its importance.
- Include a brief review of the relevant literature.
- Highlight any controversies or disagreements in the field.
- Conclude with a brief statement of the overall aim of the study and whether that aim was achieved;
Materials and Methods
This section should provide enough detail to allow suitably skilled investigators to fully replicate your study. Specific information and/or protocols for new methods should be included in detail. If materials, methods, and protocols are well established, authors may cite articles where those protocols are described in detail, but the submission should include sufficient information to be understood independent of these references.
We encourage authors to submit detailed protocols for newer or less well-established methods as Supporting Information. Methods sections of papers on research using human or animal subjects and/or tissue or field sampling must include required ethics statements. Methods sections of papers with data that should be deposited in a publicly available database should specify where the data have been deposited and provide the relevant agreement numbers and version numbers, if appropriate. Agreement numbers should be provided in parentheses after the entity on first use. If the accession numbers have not yet been obtained at the time of submission, please state that they will be provided during review. They must be provided prior to publication
Results, discussion, and conclusions
These sections should be presented separately. These sections have no word limit, but the language should be clear and concise. These sections should describe the results of the study, the interpretation of these results, and the conclusions that can be drawn. Authors should explain how the results relate to the hypothesis presented as the basis of the study and provide a concise explanation of the implications of the findings, particularly in relation to previous related studies and potential future directions for research. HAJHBS editorial decisions do not rely on perceived significance or impact, so authors should avoid overstating their conclusions. See the HAJHBS publication criteria for more information.
Ethical consideration
In accordance with the Helsinki Declaration, clinical trial protocols should be registered prior to commencement.
Acknowledgments
People who contributed to the work but do not fit the HAHBS authorship criteria should be listed in the acknowledgments, along with their contributions. You must ensure that anyone named in the acknowledgments agrees to be so named.
Funding
Funding sources should not be included in the acknowledgments, or anywhere in the manuscript file. This information will be provided during the manuscript submission process
Competing interest statements
Author should declared any competing interests or state if not exist for any author involved in the study.
References
General guidelines
- Use the reference style as outlined in the international committee of medical journal editors (ICMJE) sample references, also referred to as the “Vancouver” style.
- References must be listed at the end of the manuscript and numbered in the order that they appear in the text.
- In the text, citations should be indicated by the reference number in brackets. The brackets should be square bracket “[]” to differentiate from abbreviation and other definitions.
Figure legends
Figures should not be included in the manuscript file, but figure legends should be. Each legend should have a short title of 15 words or fewer and describe the key messages of the figure. The full legend should provide a description of the figure, enabling readers to understand it without referring to the text. Legends should be concise, avoiding lengthy method descriptions, and should define all non-standard symbols and abbreviations. Figures should be cited in ascending numeric order upon first appearance. Each figure caption should be inserted immediately after the first paragraph in which the figure is cited in the article file. Additional information about figure captions can be found in the figure guidelines.
Supporting information captions
Captions for supporting information must be listed in the article file after the references, as they are accessed via a hyperlink attached to their captions. Do not submit a separate caption file. While it is acceptable to include them in the article file, they must be present in the article file for access to be possible in the published version. Each caption should include the file category name and number, and a short title is highly recommended. Additionally, a figure legend should be included. For example, "Figure #" followed by the legend of the figure or the title of the figure.
Declaration of interest
All authors must disclose any financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. Examples of potential competing interests include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, and grants or other funding. Authors must disclose any interests in two places: summary declaration of interest statement in the title page file (if double anonymized) or the manuscript file (if single anonymized). If there are no interests to declare then please state this: Declarations of interest: none. Additionally, detailed disclosures should be provided as part of a separate declaration of interest form, which forms part of the journal's official records. It is important for potential interests to be declared in both places, ensuring that the information provided matches accurately.
Submission declaration and verification
By submitting an article, authors imply that the work described has not been previously published (except in the form of an abstract, a published lecture, or academic thesis, as outlined in the 'multiple, redundant, or concurrent publication' guidelines), and that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere in English or other languages, and that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere in English or other languages. Authors further affirm that its publication is approved by all authors. To verify originality, articles may undergo checks by an originality detection service or plagiarism checker.
Use of inclusive language
Inclusive language acknowledges diversity, conveys respect to all people, is sensitive to differences, and promotes equal opportunities. Content should make no assumptions about the beliefs or commitments of any reader; contain nothing which might imply that one individual is superior to another on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, disability or health condition; and use inclusive language throughout. Authors should ensure that writing is free from bias, stereotypes, slang, and reference to dominant culture and/or cultural assumptions.
Changes to authorship
Authors are expected to consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list should be made only before the manuscript’s acceptance and with approval from the journal editor. To request such a change, the corresponding author must provide the following to the editor: (a) The reason for the change in the author list (b) Written confirmation (e-mail, letter) from all authors agreeing to the addition, removal, or rearrangement. In the case of addition or removal of authors, this includes confirmation from the author being added or removed.
Only in exceptional circumstances will the editor consider the addition, deletion or rearrangement of authors after the manuscript has been accepted. While the editor considers the request, publication of the manuscript will be suspended. If the manuscript has already been published in an online issue, any requests approved by the Editor will result in a corrigendum.
Copyright
Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a Journal Publishing Agreement. Acceptance of the agreement will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information through open access. An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with a 'Journal Publishing Agreement form or a link to the online version of this agreement.
Role of the funding source
You are requested to identify who provided financial support for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the article and to briefly describe the role of the sponsor(s), if any, in study design; in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; in the writing of the report; and in the decision to submit the article for publication. If the funding source(s) had no such involvement, it is recommended to state this.
Submission
Manuscript submission to this journal can be done either online through the journal's website or via email to the editorial board. Authors use the journal website to submit their manuscript prepared based on the guideline. Authors must create an account on the journal's website and upload the required files
Peer review
It depicts the peer review management process utilized by this journal. This journal operates on a single anonymized review process. Upon submission, all contributions undergo an initial assessment by the editor to determine their suitability for publication. Submissions deemed appropriate are then typically forwarded to a minimum of two independent reviewers, who evaluate the scientific quality of the paper.
Upon submission, all contributions undergo an initial assessment by the editor to determine their suitability for publication. Papers deemed suitable are then typically sent to a minimum of two independent reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. The editorial board is responsible for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles.
The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles lies with the editorial board, whose decision is conclusive. Editors abstain from involvement in decisions concerning papers they have authored themselves, those authored by family members or colleagues, or those related to products or services in which the editor holds an interest. Such submissions follow the journal's standard procedures, with peer review conducted independently of the relevant editor and their research groups.
Double-blind review
This journal uses double-blind review, which means the identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. Any manuscript that has been formerly published on any preprint platform is not accepted. To facilitate this, please include the following separately: Title page (with author details): This should include the title, authors' names and affiliations, and a complete address for the corresponding author including an e-mail address, and acknowledgement. Blinded manuscript (no author details): The main body of the paper (including the references, figures, tables and any acknowledgements) should not include any identifying information, such as the authors' names or affiliations. The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The editorial board decision is final.
